KKI - XLH
2026
Motion Design
This patient education animation was created to raise awareness of X-linked Hypophosphataemia (XLH), a rare genetic condition that affects bone development and mobility. The film explores the impact XLH can have on individuals and their families while highlighting the importance of support from loved ones and healthcare professionals throughout the patient journey.
Designed for a healthcare audience, the animation combines thoughtful storytelling with accessible visuals to communicate complex medical information in a compassionate and engaging way.
Brief
The objective was to bring an established illustration style to life through character animation while maintaining the emotional tone of the story.
The animation needed to communicate the realities of living with XLH in a way that felt empathetic, informative, and easy to understand, helping audiences connect with the experiences of patients and their families.
My Role
I was responsible for the 2D animation and character animation of the project.
Working from supplied artwork and storyboards, I prepared each illustration for animation by separating assets, rigging characters using Joysticks ‘n Sliders, and building animation-ready files in Adobe After Effects. I then animated the characters, scenes, and supporting graphic elements to create natural movement that enhanced the narrative while remaining faithful to the approved visual style.
